The Project

From iron foundry for the Blake and Knowles Steam Pump Company to mid-century taxi barn to 1980s office space, this 110-year-old building has served many uses. After the City of Cambridge acquired this historic structure, it turned to CambridgeSeven to envision a bold transformation of the brick and timber-frame industrial building. Located at the intersection of the Kendall Square Innovation District and the East Cambridge neighborhood, the reimagined Foundry Building is a nexus for visual and performing arts, entrepreneurship, technology and workforce education.
