Cambridge student receives scholarship from CambridgeSeven
Third annual CambridgeSeven STEAM scholarship recipient is first in her family to attend college and plans to study computer science at UMass Boston.

CambridgeSeven, an architecture and design firm located in Cambridge, announced its third annual STEAM scholarship recipient, Jaadyyah Shearrion, a senior at Cambridge Rindge and Latin School.
The annual STEAM Scholarship Program for students at CRLS was established in 2018 by the principals of CambridgeSeven to grant a $5,000 scholarship to a deserving senior pursuing a college education in one of the STEAM fields: science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics. To qualify for this scholarship, the student must be the first in his or her family to attend a four-year college, a full-time student working towards an undergraduate degree at an accredited college or university and “committed to excel” in one of the STEAM fields.
Shearrion will be attending UMass Boston in the fall to pursue a degree in computer science, where she hopes to create apps, video games and everything in between. She will be the first in her family to attend college and with the CambridgeSeven scholarship, has her first semester fully funded.
Shearrion has already demonstrated leadership as captain of the school’s volleyball team and treasurer of the school’s robotics club, where she was also part of the wiring team. Her volunteer work included cleaning up Danehy Park in Cambridge. Jaadyyah is “excited to begin her college journey and hopes to study abroad where she will experience different cultures.”
