Designed as a public attraction focusing on the Mediterranean Sea and its ecosystems, the “Acquario di Genova” serves as an international educational institution, a research center providing access to its animals and life support systems for associated institutions, and a marine mammal rescue center. Exhibits focus on two time perspectives: the 15th and 20th centuries and two cultural perspectives: Europe and the New World.
